Description
The industrial facilities of Cía. Mega are located in Cangrejales – Bahía Blanca. The industrial objective of Mega Company is the recovery and fractionation of the heavy components of natural gas.
The Cangrejales Plant – Bahía Blanca is a fractionating plant for mixing heavy components of natural gas (NGL), which arrive from Neuquén, it is located within the jurisdiction of the Port of Bahía Blanca, occupying an area of approximately 45 hectares in the area called Cangrejales.
This plant has refrigerated storage for propane and butane at -43ºC and -8º C, respectively, in three tanks with a capacity of 35,000 m3 each. It also has two floating roof tanks of 15,000 m3 capacity each for the storage of gasoline.
For the dispatch of products: butane, propane and gasoline, Mega S.A. It has built a dock adjacent to the plant, 270 meters long, which allows berthing of vessels up to 230 meters in length.
Five loading arms of the latest technology have been installed on it.
Three for the butane and propane load, which allow a load rate of 2,000 m3 / hour, while the two remaining arms operate on the gasoline load with a capacity of 1,000 m3 / hour.
